Kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary to be setup in Theni and Dindigul districts

Tamil Nadu government on Thursday (May, 02, 2013) proposed to create four wildlife sanctuaries in addition to the existing Sanctuaries.  Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said the new sanctuaries were being set up in different districts in areas were wildlife was present in large numbers. Among four Kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary is also one, Kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary covers Theni and Dindigul districts.

They are,

  • Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary
  • Gangaikondan Spotted Deer Wildlife Sanctuary
  • Kodiyakkarai Wildlife Sanctuary
  • Kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary
